Everyone is welcome at Pilgrim Lutheran Church, and all are welcome to receive all God has to offer — God’s gifts and sacraments of Holy Baptism and Holy Communion.
You are welcome to enjoy all of God’s love through weddings, funerals, and regular participation in worship and service to this congregation in every way, including giving of your time, talents, and resources.
Worship is each Sunday at 10 a.m., and we look forward to getting to know you better and deeper as you worship with us on Sunday mornings.
“I always described myself as a child of God, a pastor’s wife and then a pastor’s widow, mother, grandmother, and teacher of 25 years,” shared Leah Peery.
In 1991, when her husband, Gordon, retired as the pastor from Faith Lutheran in Newberry, they began looking for a new church. Church had always been family to them. They wanted to find that again. So, they began visiting churches.
They pulled up in front of Pilgrim one Sunday and hadn’t even gotten out of the car before people met them in the parking lot.
If you wonder why Margie Bundrick always looks so put together, it's because she spent her second career as an interior designer. After being laid off from a corporate job of 30 years, she followed her passion and began designing beautiful spaces for people. Her put-together persona masks the struggle and loss she recently suffered.
The relationships Melissa Hendrix developed at Pilgrim and the Bible Studies she attended allowed her to explore her faith more fully. They deepened her relationship with God and the community. As Melissa continues to seek balance and grow her faith, Pilgrim is at the center.
Pilgrim was not initially where Delores and her family settled when they moved back to Lexington in 2005. Her children, Jordan and Zach, found their niche in another church’s youth group, and so Delores and her husband, Wally, attended there also. But after the kids had graduated and moved on, Delores found herself not attending as much. She and her husband decided to go to Pilgrim, as that was the church she attended when she was a child.
